Postpartum Exercise Training
SOMA believes that no female is exempt from rehabilitation and focused training post pregnancy, throughout motherhood and when returning to sport or exercise. Postpartum exercise training should train and educate females on how to manage core and pelvic floor load whilst integrating whole body stability, strength and mobility training.
Using a wide variety of strength and conditioning, mobility and innovative postural and pilates type core exercises SOMA delivers effective exercise training to females who are navigating postural and physical changes related to pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood.

I contacted Niamh at the end of 2022 to get help with regaining fitness after pregnancy and lockdown! I’d run a few marathons before kids and after my first. Being a bit older having a second kid and lockdown led to a loss of strength and lots of aches and pains. I had lost connection to my core, had really bad sciatica (long car journeys were painful) and recurring knee pain. Whenever ran races but I felt broken afterwards.
I worked with Niamh over a year, firstly focusing on fitness for a half marathon and then building up to the London Marathon 2024, which I’ve just completed in my target time and pain free!
The training was specific to my challenges. The sets were tough but achievable and the results were quick.. I regained core strength, the knee pain subsided and a problem bunion even moved itself back in line which was mild blowing! I don’t get any sciatic pain anymore and I’m a week out from the marathon I’m ready to run my next race! That wouldn’t have been possible a year ago.
Niamh was a joy to work with - supportive, encouraging and very responsive. She zones in on the issue and worked with me to find the right solutions. I would not have got my goal without Niamh!

I am a female movement and exercise specialist. I work with females navigating their active lifestyles from pregnancy to postpartum and motherhood. I am passionate about females feeling strong, capable, functional and pain free.
I bring together years of experience working with athletes, dancers and women in their maternal years. I combine my knowledge in functional anatomy, movement mechanics, posture and alignment and exercise prescription to deliver postnatal rehab and corrective exercises.
